Monika Stadler
2011 Artist-in-Residence | March 17-19, 2011
Pacific Harp Institute is delighted to announce Monika Stadler as our Artist-in-Residence for 2011. Monika Stadler is one of the most creative, individual and enigmatic solo harpists in Europe today. Currently, Monika Stadler lives in Vienna, and tours through Europe, the USA, Canada, the Middle East and Japan as a soloist or with one of her duos (harp & percussion, harp & acoustic bass) performing her own compositions which are recorded on 8 CD`s. She offers a program beyond clichés, combining elements of classical, jazz, world and improvised music in her unique style. It is her constant goal to expand the techniques of harp playing as well as to plumb the depths of the soul. In her own ingenious way, Monika Stadler combines the highest musical aspirations with technical brilliance. More information about Ms. Stadler is available on her website: http://www.harp.at/.
